The world's largest covered butterfly garden, home to more than 15,000 butterflies from 50 species across 9 climate-controlled domes. A peaceful, colorful stroll, perfect with young children.
Dubai Butterfly Garden is a covered garden where thousands of butterflies fly freely. Nine air-conditioned domes, more than 15,000 butterflies and about 50 species: it is a calm and colorful outing, particularly suited to young children.
You stroll inside air-conditioned domes laid out like tropical gardens, where butterflies land on flowers, leaves and sometimes on your clothes. The visit is on foot, effortless, and stays pleasant even in the middle of the heat thanks to the air conditioning. Photography lovers will find beautiful subjects; a photo area is provided.
Allow about one to one and a half hours to see all the domes without rushing. In the morning the butterflies are generally more active, and it is quieter on weekdays.
The garden is in Dubailand, close to the Dubai Miracle Garden, so you can combine two family visits on the same day, especially in the cool season. For more ideas with children, discover the dolphin and seal show or our Kids section.
Is it suitable for babies and young children?
Yes, it is one of the calmest outings in Dubai with young children: the walk is flat, air-conditioned and without long queues. Bring water and a light stroller if needed.
When should we come?
The garden is busiest in the cool season, from autumn to spring. In summer, the air conditioning in the domes makes it an interesting activity, provided the garden is open on your dates. Read our guide when to go to Dubai.
