Activities designed for families with children.
Dubai is well suited to family travel: venues are air-conditioned, clean and often designed with children in mind. The hardest part is choosing an outing suited to your children's age and the heat of the moment. Here is how to plan your days with the activities on this page.
The Dubai Butterfly Garden (from 55 AED) is a flat, air-conditioned walk among thousands of butterflies, with a child rate for ages 3 to 12. The dolphin and seal show (from 50 AED) is a short outing, easy to fit into a day. OliOli (from 160 AED) offers a play and discovery space for children.
Play DXB (from 195 AED) lets children burn energy sheltered from the heat. For a full day, parks such as Legoland Dubai or Aquaventure require arriving at opening time and planning a break in the shade. Kidzania tickets are not available at the moment.
With young children, plan just one main outing per day, in the morning, and keep the afternoon for the pool or rest. With older children, alternate a park day with a calmer outing. For more ideas, read our article Dubai with children: a family guide.
What is the best outing for a child under 5?
The Butterfly Garden and the dolphin show are the easiest: short, air-conditioned or easy to follow, without long queues. Still check the age conditions on each page.
Do we need to book in advance?
Yes, we recommend booking a few days ahead, especially during school holidays and from November to March. Our bookings are made at least 24 hours in advance.
Can we do several outings on the same day?
With young children, we advise one main outing per day. Two short activities, such as the dolphin show and the Butterfly Garden, can be combined.
